Join Us for the 2023 Student Art Calendar Contest
Burbank Water and Power (BWP) has partnered with the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) to find student artists in Burbank to give us their vision of why water is vital to our community.

Prizes for Winning Submissions
Locally - BWP will judge three categories (K-5th grade) (6-8th grade), and (9-12th grade). BWP will choose 1st -3rd place winners from each category to move on to MWD for final judging.
Two gift cards will be awarded at each grade category, one for the student and one for their teacher!
Regionally - MWD will select 37 winning pieces of art to be featured in the 2023 “Water is Life” print calendar and MWD digital library. Selected artists will be recognized and honored.
Theme
The 2022 student art calendar contest theme: “Water is Life,” relates to the stewardship and conservation of our precious natural resource, water. Artwork should have a water-saving theme and depict wise and efficient water use by homes, schools, and businesses in the community.
How to submit your artwork
- Digital submissions only.
- Email digital art file to Austin Bushur at [email protected]
- Please include the Art Information Card and Student Artwork Rights/ Parent Approval Form with your submission
- Please retain any original artwork as pieces may need to be scanned at higher quality for the calendar

BWP partnered with the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) to find student artists and supporting teachers in Burbank to give us their vision of why water is so vital to our community. The winning submissions won prizes from BWP and may be featured in the 2022 MWD Student Art Calendar.
37 total entries will be selected by MWD to be featured in the 2022 “Water is Life” print calendar and MWD digital library.
