Energy-Saving Trees Program
Burbank Residents can select up to 3 trees and Burbank businesses can select up to 20 trees. Find out how you can participate in the program below.
Welcome to our new Energy-Saving Trees Program!
We are excited to offer no-cost trees to Burbank electric customers to help reduce energy consumption and lower utility bills. By planting the shade trees, you can help reduce the energy needed to cool your home. We believe everyone should have access to the benefits of trees, and we are committed to making that a reality for the electric customers of Burbank.
Burbank Water and Power (BWP) has teamed up with the Arbor Day Foundation to provide our community with shade trees through the Energy Saving Trees program. Click the link below to enter your address on the program website, and then use the interactive web experience to determine the best location for tree planting to maximize their environmental benefits and for the greatest energy and money savings.

The USDA Forest Service has researched the impact of urban trees on energy use and found that trees in urban areas of the United States annually reduce electricity use by 38.8 million megawatt hours for a savings of $4.7 billion.
Why Should You Participate?
Burbank has a goal of planting 500 trees. This goal is a collaborative effort of the City of Burbank's Parks and Recreation Department, Public Works Department, and Burbank Water and Power. The Plant For A Greener Burbank Campaign aligns with the Burbank2035 General Plan and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan.
